Hoeing is Hard Work

Gardening is just about the only activity that takes my mind off of my cravings for chocolate, brownies, and Dr. Pepper. I am not exaggerating. This past week I have started craving brownies and Dr. Pepper to the point of tears. Gardening is the one activity that makes me forget about the cravings - at least until I come back inside.

 Nelson enjoys hoeing!

He works very hard at it.

Last night he hoed the majority of the garden.

I love when he uses his strength, energy and stamina for hard work!

Below, Nelson hoes while I pick out grass and weeds.

Bethany, carving sweets is totally normal. We were created with a sweet taste! But here is the thing. True cravings for sugary things, is the bodies way of telling us we are saturated fats deprived.
A spoonful of butter or raw coconut oil will do the trick to calm those awful cravings.

Mama,

I must be *really* deprived then.

Its not unusual at all. Most Americans are chronically low on saturated fats in their diets.

Hoeing and weeding is hard work. I don't know what I would do without my big kids to help in the garden. Probably a lot of gardening wouldn't get done!

mama,
My afternoon snack today was packed with saturated fats... and I do feel "satisfied." (Except that now I am craving something salty like corn chips. oh well.)

I see your blog went private. I hope you and your family are happy and safe.

Hey, the salt craving is a deficiency sign too! It is your adrenals needing a boost.
Just add real sea salt to all the water you drink, as well as any foods you eat. You will get those hormones working well again in no time!
We are well. Time to scale WAY back and remove footprints. Regrets of too much info out there. Nothing bad, but I am tired of the wolves at the door all the time.
I will peek in on occasion.
